What do I do now? and so sorry this is so long!!!?

My ex and I live together as just roommates currently. It's a strange situation but works out monetarily and we both date other poeple. Earlier today, I called him at work and asked him to go out to the movies with me tonight. He said fine. Well, when he got home from work he said he was too tired and really felt like just resting. I told him fine and that maybe we can watch a movie inside instead. He came out and told me that the girl he is seeing asked him after I asked him, to go out with her tonight. I told him that was fine but asked if he'd go down the street with me to get a drink or a bite to eat since I got all ready to go out and he never told me we wouldn't be going. He flat out said he wasn't hungry or anything and that he felt bad but for me not to take it personally since it's not about me. It's about him and how he's unhappy with his whole situation in life including having to have a roommate and a crappy job and so on.......cont'd
