Here's one for you Christians?

Most Christians I've talked to say that I need to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Yet they also say that Jesus was without sin. If this is the case, then He cannot possibly know the pain of sin thus can be of no comfort to me. Suppose I had killed a man, which would make me most in need of His love. If Jesus was without sin, then presumably He has never killed a man and so cannot know how it feels. How can the two of us relate?
